Sarah Ferguson, ex-wife of Prince Andrew, made headlines with her candid reaction to a question about her future at Royal Lodge, the Windsor estate she shares with the Duke of York.
The Duchess of York, known as Fergie, appeared unsettled when a royal reporter inquired whether she planned to move out of the property amid ongoing debates over its future. The Royal Lodge has been a focal point of controversy, with King Charles III reportedly pushing to relocate Prince Andrew to Frogmore Cottage, the former residence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Richard Mineards, a former Fleet Street royal correspondent, shared details of the encounter in his column. “While other reporters asked lighter questions, I directly asked Fergie if her new contract meant she’d finally be leaving Royal Lodge. She was clearly not amused and left the room,” he wrote.
This isn’t the first time Fergie, now 65, has walked out of an interview over sensitive topics. She notably exited a 60 Minutes Australia interview in 2010 when questioned about the “cash for access” scandal involving a “fake sheikh.”
The Duchess has shown a strong attachment to Royal Lodge, with ties to the property spanning decades. Despite ongoing speculation, Prince Andrew has reportedly secured a mysterious funding source to maintain the estate, allowing the former couple to remain in residence.
