Actor Denies Dating Claims and Shares Details of Their Brief Interaction
Simon Rex has spoken out about his connection with Meghan Markle, shutting down speculation and clarifying whether they have remained in touch since their brief encounter in 2022.
The 50-year-old actor gained attention after revealing that multiple British tabloids had offered him $70,000 to fabricate a romantic story about Meghan before her marriage to Harry. Despite the financial temptation, Rex declined, choosing integrity over falsehoods.
Meghan acknowledged his decision by sending him a handwritten thank-you note, expressing her appreciation. "It's nice to know there are still good people," she wrote. Touched by the gesture, Rex framed the letter and praised her handwriting.
Speaking at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2025, Rex confirmed they had not stayed in touch. "No, no," he stated, before firmly denying dating claims: "I never dated Meghan. It wasn't dating, no. That story was definitely elaborated."
He reiterated that their interaction was based on mutual respect, with Meghan simply thanking him for rejecting false reports. To this day, Rex still proudly displays her note.
While promoting his latest film Magic Farm, Rex was asked about Meghan’s upcoming Netflix cooking series, With Love, Meghan. Though unfamiliar with the details, he responded with support: "Oh cool. Good for her."
