Prince of Wales Takes on Greater Responsibilities Amid King's Health Battle
Catherine has long been a central figure in the royal family, shaping the monarchy’s future alongside her husband, Prince William. However, as William takes on increasing responsibilities, her role in guiding him has shifted.
While the Princess of Wales remains a crucial member of the royal family, sources confirm she no longer needs to steer William as she once did. Before her marriage, Catherine played a significant role in encouraging him to embrace his future duties. Now, with King Charles continuing his cancer treatment, William is being prepared to step into greater leadership “sooner than expected.” Meanwhile, Catherine, following her own nine-month cancer battle, is gradually resuming engagements while prioritising her recovery.
According to royal insiders, Catherine was once a “voice of reason,” ensuring William remained mindful of his position and the global scrutiny on him. However, an insider told InTouch Weekly that this is no longer necessary. “She no longer has to take on that role with William,” the source shared. “He matured a long time ago, and they’re completely aligned.”
Though stepping back from this particular role, Catherine remains focused on the broader responsibilities within the royal family. “Now, it’s about reminding the rest of the family of their obligations,” the source added, noting that she believes they should work on being “more relatable and more humble.”
