Royal Expert Praises Her Growing Influence in the Royal Family
Duchess Sophie has received special recognition following her return to the UK with Prince Edward after a highly successful royal tour of Nepal.
The Duchess of Edinburgh was described as the "charismatic" partner of the Duke by renowned royal commentator Phil Dampier, who also highlighted her growing influence within the royal family.
Speaking to Fabulous magazine, Dampier recalled how the late Queen Elizabeth once praised Sophie, saying she was “good for our Ed.” He noted, “Sophie has brought out the best in Edward, making him far more popular than when he was younger.”
Dampier also lauded the Duchess for her dedication, adding, “She is treasured by her 70-odd patronages, with more to come. She has truly become a star in her own right.”
Sophie, who recently celebrated her 60th birthday, was praised for her "relaxed and confident" demeanor in newly released portraits, further cementing her growing status within the royal family.
Her return from Nepal was met with widespread admiration, as she successfully carried out royal engagements alongside Prince Edward, reaffirming her role as one of the monarchy’s most valued members.
