Prince Harry’s Invictus Games made a high-profile return to Canada, but one key figure was noticeably absent—Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
According to Daily Mail columnist Ephraim Hardcastle, Trudeau, who attended the Games in 2017 and previously maintained friendly ties with Harry and Meghan Markle, was nowhere to be seen this time. His absence has sparked speculation, with some suggesting their relationship soured after 2019, when resurfaced blackface photos of the Prime Minister caused controversy.
Despite previous rumours that Canada might offer the Sussexes a post-Megxit refuge, Trudeau played no role in their latest chapter. Instead, he reportedly watched the opening ceremony from home before travelling to Paris for discussions on artificial intelligence with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Meanwhile, Harry took centre stage at the event, delivering a speech on global challenges and praising the resilience of the veterans competing in the Games.
