Invictus Games CEO Shares Rare Insight Into Prince Harry’s Passion for the Event

Dominic Reid reflects on Duke of Sussex’s dedication ahead of final games under his leadership

As Prince Harry prepares to launch the first-ever Invictus Winter Games in Vancouver and Whistler, outgoing Invictus Games Foundation CEO Dominic Reid has opened up about the Duke’s unwavering commitment to the initiative.

Reid, who announced his departure last year after a decade of service, will oversee his final games under Harry’s leadership. Speaking to People Magazine, he shared how deeply personal the Invictus Games are to the Duke of Sussex.

"It is very important to him as a soldier, it’s very important to him as a person," Reid revealed. “He has absolutely been the person giving guidance and direction. That has been a joy to be involved with.”

Prince Harry has previously described how the Invictus Games played a crucial role in his own recovery and transition out of military service. Reid echoed this, stating, “There’s a really strong synergy between him and the Foundation, and it’s a great thing. Most people see that and respond warmly to it.”

The outgoing CEO also praised Harry’s lasting impact, noting that the games have provided “extraordinary opportunities for an extraordinary number of people”, helping participants feel “seen, heard, and cared about.”

The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 will take place from February 8 to February 16, marking the 10th anniversary of the event and a significant milestone for both Harry and the foundation.
