Rapper Sparks Controversy with Explosive Posts Following Super Bowl 2025
Kanye West has reignited his feud with Taylor Swift, taking a public swipe at the pop star before abruptly deactivating his social media accounts.
On February 10, the rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticise Swift’s presence in the media, writing, “If it’s about the culture, why are we letting Taylor Swift be seen on TV singing a song about taking a Black man down and accusing of things that can take a Black man down for life.”
West also appeared to reference Swift’s viral moment at the Grammys, where she was seen dancing to Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us, a diss track aimed at Drake.
“KENDRICK IS BEING USED BY THESE WHITE PEOPLE AND JEWS AND SO AM I,” West wrote, drawing immediate backlash for his comments.
This latest attack adds another chapter to the long-running conflict between West and Swift, which began in 2009 when he interrupted her MTV Video Music Awards acceptance speech. Though they appeared to mend their relationship in later years, tensions resurfaced after the release of West’s 2016 song Famous.
Despite the controversy, West later claimed he was in a “good space mentally” and found social media to be a “cathartic” outlet. Before deactivating his accounts, he signed off with, “It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board.”
As West steps away from social media once again, fans are left wondering whether this is the end of his latest controversy—or just another brief hiatus before his next return.
