King Charles Strikes Amazon Deal as Prince Harry and Meghan Face Another Setback

Monarch Partners with Streaming Giant While Sussexes Struggle with Netflix

King Charles has secured a major partnership with Amazon Prime Video, marking a significant streaming move as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly struggle to meet Netflix’s expectations.

According to The Mirror UK, the King will feature in a one-time documentary filmed at Dumfries House, his expansive 2,000-acre estate in Scotland. The special, inspired by his 2010 book Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World, will emphasize Charles' vision of sustainability and the interconnectedness of nature, humanity, and the built environment.

A Palace insider told The Times:

"The King is greatly looking forward to seeing how the Harmony concept can be communicated to a new and international audience, using some of the best creative talents in TV."

The documentary, which takes a “show, not tell” approach, is expected to debut in early 2025 and was reportedly pitched to multiple streaming platforms before Amazon secured the rights.

The announcement comes shortly after Meghan Markle revealed plans for a Netflix cooking show, sparking speculation of a streaming rivalry between Amazon and Netflix.

Notably, Amazon also holds a multimillion-dollar deal with Prince Harry and Meghan, making King Charles' latest venture an interesting development in the evolving media landscape of the royal family.
