Duchess of Sussex Surprises Critics with Positive Comments from Royal Staff
Meghan Markle has made headlines once again—this time for receiving unexpected praise from the Palace, despite past reports of tensions and bullying allegations.
The Duchess of Sussex, who is currently in Canada alongside Prince Harry for the Invictus Games, has faced criticism in recent years following claims from former Archewell staff members who described her as a “mean girl.” Additionally, during her time at Kensington Palace, bullying complaints were reportedly filed against Meghan, leading to an internal investigation initiated by the late Queen Elizabeth.
However, royal biographer Tom Quinn has now revealed a surprising twist. Speaking to Life & Style, Quinn shared that he was “astonished” to hear Palace staff speak positively about Meghan.
“One of the things the royals found difficult about Meghan Markle was that she was a bit too relaxed for [such] a very formal family,” Quinn explained, noting that her warm and affectionate approach often clashed with royal traditions.
“She was constantly hugging and embracing—not only royal relatives but senior staffers—which the family struggled to deal with,” he added.
Despite the negative press she has received, several former Palace employees have reportedly described Meghan as “actually rather nice,” contradicting the harsh portrayal often seen in the media.
As Meghan and Harry continue their engagements at the Invictus Games in Vancouver, the couple remains in high spirits, interacting with participants and fans at the event, which celebrates resilience and unity among service members and veterans.
