Royal Expert Warns Duchess About Impact of Featuring Daughter in 'As Ever' Brand Launch
Meghan Markle has come under scrutiny for a controversial decision involving her daughter, Princess Lilibet, in the launch of her newly rebranded lifestyle venture, As Ever.
The Duchess of Sussex, alongside Harry, has typically kept their children—Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three—out of the public eye. However, eyebrows were raised when Meghan included a distant shot of Lilibet on the cover of her brand’s website. Although the young royal’s face remains concealed, the decision has sparked debate.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams issued a warning to Meghan, expressing concerns about the potential long-term impact on Lilibet. “Meghan and Harry rarely allow their children to be seen,” Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk. “Lilibet is too young to protest. However, when she looks back, I doubt her appearance on the As Ever website will be one of her favourite memories.”
This isn’t the first time the couple has shared glimpses of their children while maintaining privacy. Their 2023 Christmas card featured six photos, including shots of Archie and Lilibet captured from behind, running toward their parents.
Royal commentator Hugo Vickers also weighed in, telling The Sun that the decision to feature Lilibet could be viewed as “using their children for advertising purposes, especially when their children are officially members of the Royal Family.”
As Meghan continues her journey with As Ever, this latest move has reignited discussions about privacy, royal responsibilities, and the role of the Sussex children in their parents' public ventures.
