Duchess of Sussex receives warning as popularity struggles continue
Meghan Markle has received troubling news as she faces growing challenges in maintaining her public image amid ongoing controversies surrounding her lifestyle brand, As Ever.
On February 18, the Duchess of Sussex shared a selfie-style video on Instagram, announcing the rebranding of her lifestyle venture from American Riviera Orchard to As Ever. The launch included a new website, logo, and a charming photo featuring her daughter, Princess Lilibet.
However, royal expert Jack Royston believes Meghan’s latest move may not have been the best choice for a successful comeback. Speaking to The Sun, Royston remarked: "This (the brand) needs to be it, and at the moment it just doesn't feel to me that jam can live up to the amount of pressure that she's putting on it."
Royston also pointed out the risks of linking the brand launch too closely with her upcoming Netflix show. "She's tied it all to her Netflix show, so the two things will either fly or fail together. I can't see for the life of me why she didn't just do a Suits reboot," he added.
The royal correspondent highlighted that Meghan’s acting career initially built her connection with the American public, with Suits experiencing a resurgence in popularity. "Acting is what first forged a relationship between Meghan and the American people, and Suits has had a wild run recently—it’s been so successful," Royston explained.
As Meghan navigates these latest setbacks, questions remain about whether As Ever will meet the high expectations placed on it, especially with the added pressure of her upcoming Netflix project.
