Duchess criticised for prioritising ‘As Ever’ over potential ‘Suits’ reboot
Meghan Markle faces fresh criticism over her entrepreneurial focus, with experts arguing she missed a major opportunity by not returning to Suits amid its renewed success.
Amid ongoing controversy surrounding her lifestyle brand, As Ever, royal expert Jack Royston suggested that Meghan’s decision to pursue business ventures instead of a television comeback was a misstep. Speaking to The Sun, he argued that acting remains her strongest connection with the American audience.
“I still cannot make out for the life of me why she didn’t do a Suits reboot,” Royston said. “The show has had an absolutely wild resurgence, and it’s been so successful. I just don’t understand why she didn’t go for the obvious win.”
Describing Meghan’s focus on As Ever as a “crazy” choice, he added that even a small role in the show’s revival could have cemented her position in the industry far more effectively than selling jams and honey.
“She’d barely need to be in it—just a few scenes would be enough to make the relaunch a success. So it’s madness that she didn’t stick to what she’s known for,” he concluded.
While Meghan continues to develop As Ever, critics argue that she may have delayed an easier route to reclaiming her Hollywood success.
