Royal Lodge Maintenance Costs Add Pressure on Beatrice and Eugenie’s Father
Prince Andrew has reportedly left his daughters, their daughters, disappointed as he faces mounting financial pressures over the upkeep of his royal residence, the Royal Lodge.
The Duke of York, who signed a 75-year lease on the estate in 2003, has been warned about the urgent need for maintenance work after King Charles withdrew financial support.
Property expert Terry Fisher explained to GB News that maintaining the 21-acre estate is a major undertaking. “Without regular attention, overgrowth can quickly spiral out of control, requiring professional intervention to restore order,” he said.
Fisher estimated that the cost of hiring a dedicated team of four to six gardeners could range between £30,000 to £40,000 per gardener annually, potentially exceeding £150,000 in total maintenance costs per year.
These financial concerns come amid reports that their daughters have been urging Andrew to make changes for a more stable future. Royal expert Arthur Edwards told The Sun that Beatrice and Eugenie have been desperate for their father to turn things around.
