Duke and Duchess of Sussex Share in Family Celebration as Princess Beatrice Welcomes Daughter
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly joined King Charles in celebrating the happy arrival of Princess Beatrice’s second child, Athena Elizabeth Rose, despite the ongoing tensions within the royal family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may consider a trip to the UK to personally congratulate Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, on their new addition.
Royal expert Jennie Bond suggested to The Mirror that Beatrice has likely “already pinged a picture or two [of Athena] to Harry and Meghan.” However, she speculated that a visit from the Sussexes remains uncertain, stating, “I don't think it will hasten a visit by them to the UK, but perhaps if charity work or business brings Harry this way, he’ll be keen to meet his new cousin.”
Princess Beatrice welcomed Athena on January 22 at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. Buckingham Palace officially announced the joyful news on January 29, confirming that King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other senior royals are “delighted” with the newest addition to the family.
The statement also reassured well-wishers about the well-being of mother and child, adding, “Her Royal Highness and her daughter are healthy and doing well, and the family are enjoying spending time together with Athena’s older siblings, Wolfie and Sienna.”
With Harry previously expressing his desire to return to the UK with his family, this celebration could serve as an opportunity for a reunion, potentially offering a step toward reconciliation amid the ongoing royal rift.
