Duke of Sussex Awaits Legal Challenge After Concluding Invictus Games in Canada
Harry could face a significant legal hurdle upon his return to the US after wrapping up the Invictus Games in Canada.
The Duke of Sussex, who remains in Vancouver and Whistler supporting participants after Meghan Markle returned to California to be with their children, is now entangled in a renewed legal dispute concerning his US visa.
The Heritage Foundation initially filed a case in 2020 against the Department of Homeland Security, alleging that Harry received preferential treatment in his US immigration process despite admitting to drug use. Although a federal judge previously ruled in his favour, the case has been reopened following Donald Trump’s inauguration as US president in January.
Judge Carl Nichols has now warned that details of Harry’s visa application could be disclosed. Court documents reveal that a hearing is scheduled for Thursday, February 20, where the US government will decide which legal documents related to the case can be made public.
As the Invictus Games prepare to close with a ceremony on Sunday, February 16th, 2025, it remains uncertain whether Meghan will attend the final event.
