Prince Harry Makes History at Invictus Games Following King Charles’ Latest Move

Duke of Sussex Introduces Winter Sports in Groundbreaking Milestone

Prince Harry has announced a historic moment at Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025, achieving a major milestone just after King Charles’ recent decision regarding a prestigious royal title.

According to Sussex.com, the Duke of Sussex made history on the third day of the Games by introducing Skeleton, a high-speed winter sport, as an official competition—marking a first in Invictus Games history.

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan Markle detailed the couple’s engagements, highlighting their visit to Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), where they immersed themselves in the community’s rich history and cultural heritage.

Later, Harry arrived in Whistler to fulfil key duties as part of the Games, where he unveiled Skeleton, a sport in which athletes race head-first down an icy track on a small sled.

"Skeleton is a high-speed winter sport in which athletes race head-first down an icy track on a small sledge, requiring intense bravery," the Sussexes' spokesperson stated.

This groundbreaking moment follows King Charles’ official decision to grant the title of “His Highness” to Aga Khan V, Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini, after the passing of his father, Prince Karim Al-Hussaini.

With Invictus Games continuing to evolve under Harry’s leadership, this latest achievement solidifies his dedication to supporting injured service members and veterans on a global stage.
