Duke of Sussex Hints at Archie and Lilibet Joining Him for Invictus Games 2027
Harry has received encouraging news from the UK following his recent announcement about bringing the Invictus Games to Birmingham in 2027. The Duke of Sussex, who shared the update during the closing ceremony of the Games, hinted at the possibility of being accompanied by his children, Archie and Lilibet, during his future visit.
The Labour MP for Birmingham Selly Oak and Veterans Minister, Al Carns, extended full support to Harry’s plans, calling him an "amazing patron" and expressing confidence in Birmingham’s ability to host the event successfully.
"We will get behind it, I can guarantee you," Carns said in an interview with The Telegraph. "Birmingham has a great spirit, and the UK remains committed to supporting its veterans."
Discussing future plans for the Games, Carns shared insights into expanding its reach: "We talked about broadening the Games internationally, connecting it more into society, and introducing it to schools so young people know about it from an early age."
With Birmingham’s successful track record in hosting major events like the Commonwealth Games, Carns added: "It’s going to be amazing. We’re aiming for a real festival atmosphere."
As Harry previously expressed his desire to introduce his children to the Invictus Games, royal watchers are now eager to see if Archie and Lilibet will accompany him during the anticipated 2027 event.
