Duke of Sussex welcomes Prince Joachim and Princess Marie in Vancouver
Prince Harry shared a warm reunion with European royalty as he welcomed Prince Joachim of Denmark and his wife, Princess Marie, to the Invictus Games in Vancouver.
While no British royals were present, the Danish royal couple arrived on Friday to support their nation's athletes, meeting with the rowing and volleyball teams before enjoying a dinner together. The following day, they attended a volleyball match, where they were seen in conversation with Harry as they watched the game.
This marks the first time Harry has met the Danish royals since 2017, when they visited a military training centre together in Copenhagen.
Although the Invictus Games were founded by Harry in 2014 with initial support from Prince William, Catherine, and King Charles through the Royal Foundation, none of the British royals have attended the current event or publicly acknowledged Harry’s efforts.
As preparations begin for the next games in Birmingham, it remains uncertain whether the dynamics between Harry and the royal family will shift in the future.
