Duchess of Sussex Left Laughing After Duke’s Unexpected Announcement
Prince Harry left Meghan Markle momentarily stunned during an event in Whistler when he jokingly suggested she take the stage to sing in front of a crowd of nearly 1,000 people.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were in Whistler to support the skeleton event’s debut, where Canadian singer Michael Bublé made a special appearance. After performing a short riff of Feeling Good, Bublé introduced Harry with a heartfelt tribute.
“I know how difficult something like this is, so I wanted to make sure I did this right. Without the incredible effort of this young man, none of this would have happened, so please welcome my friend, Prince Harry,” Bublé said.
Taking the stage, Harry playfully responded, “Well, thank God Michael Bublé sang. Can you imagine bringing him out here and him saying, ‘You know what? I didn’t come here to sing…’” He then expressed gratitude to Whistler’s mayor, Jack Crompton, and the crowd for supporting the event’s inspiring athletes.
Then, in a lighthearted twist, Harry turned to Meghan and announced, “Now she’s going to sing!” Taken by surprise, Meghan burst into laughter, exclaiming, “No!” before addressing the audience with a warm, “Thank you, everybody. Have the best time!”
Later, behind the scenes, Meghan shared a fun exchange with Bublé in an Instagram video. The singer jokingly asked, “Are you going to sing?” to which Meghan laughed and replied, “No, I’m not singing!” before sharing a friendly hug with him.
The playful moment added a fun and unexpected highlight to the couple’s visit as they continued to support the Invictus Games and its athletes.
