Duke of Sussex Sparks Tension by Keeping Children Away from the UK Amid Security Row
Prince Harry has reportedly deepened the rift with his father, King Charles, by making a significant decision regarding Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s future visits to the UK.
According to royal commentator Matt Wilkinson, the Duke of Sussex’s choice not to bring his children to Britain during his upcoming visit serves as a pointed message to the monarch.
Speaking to The Sun, Wilkinson suggested:
"It almost felt like a bit of blackmail, kind of saying, 'If I don't get my security, then you will never see your grandchildren, or the country will never see the family come back to the UK unless I get my security.'"
For those unversed, Harry is currently locked in a legal battle with the UK Home Office after his taxpayer-funded security was revoked following his decision to step down as a senior royal in 2020.
The latest development comes amid reports that King Charles is eager to see his grandchildren. A royal insider told the Daily Mail:
"Harry and Meghan are a source of strain and worry for His Majesty. While he is sorry that he does not have a relationship with his grandchildren in America, it is easier for his peace of mind that there’s an ocean between him and Harry."
