Future King left disappointed as his team suffers Six Nations blow in Paris
Prince William, an avid rugby supporter and patron of the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU), is reportedly upset after Wales suffered a shocking 43-0 defeat against France in their opening Six Nations match.
Ahead of the game, the Prince of Wales had sent his well-wishes to the team, encouraging them with a message: “Wishing @welshrugbyunion the very best of luck tonight against France, and throughout @sixnationsrugby! Amdani!” However, the result was a major disappointment, with Wales failing to score a single point in Paris.
An insider shared: “The Prince of Wales, who's a passionate sports fan, is really very upset as his favourite team lost to France. He was not expecting such a result.”
William and Catherine are known for their competitive sporting spirit, with the Princess of Wales serving as patron of England’s Rugby Football Union and the Rugby Football League since 2022.
As the Six Nations progresses, all eyes will be on Wales' crucial clash against England on 15 March at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, with both royals expected to follow the tournament closely.
Despite the rugby disappointment, William found some sporting relief earlier in the week while watching his beloved Aston Villa secure a thrilling 4-2 victory against Celtic in the Champions League at Villa Park.
