Prince William has reportedly ramped up his preparations for the throne, holding a secret meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in London as King Charles continues his cancer treatment.
The Prince of Wales, who has taken on an increasing number of royal duties following Princess Catherine’s recovery, conducted the private engagement at Whitehall on Thursday, with no media present.
As the future head of the Armed Forces, William is closely connected to various military regiments across all three branches, including serving as Royal Colonel of the Welsh Guards.

This week, the Prince and Princess of Wales had a packed schedule of engagements. On Monday, William met privately with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at Kensington Palace.
He later joined Princess Catherine for a Holocaust Memorial Day ceremony before heading to Hereford on Tuesday to visit Lower Blakemere Farm. On Wednesday, he was seen at NatureMetrics, an Earthshot Prize finalist in Guildford, before traveling to Birmingham to support Aston Villa in their UEFA Champions League match against Celtic FC.
William’s increasing public presence and behind-the-scenes discussions suggest he is taking further steps to prepare for his future role, fueling speculation about the monarchy’s transition in the years to come.
