Princess of Wales Pays Special Tribute to Monarch While Taking on New Patronage
The royal family has delighted fans with a touching update on Princess Catherine and King Charles, sharing stunning photos from the Princess of Wales’ latest engagement.
Catherine paid a heartfelt tribute to her father-in-law after officially taking over his patronage of Tŷ Hafan, a children’s hospice in South Wales. The visit marked her first royal 'away day' since 2023, as she embraced her new role with warmth and compassion.
To coincide with her arrival, it was announced that Catherine had been named the new patron of the hospice, following in the footsteps of both King Charles and the late Princess Diana.
Photos from the visit show the mother-of-three engaging with young patients before joining them for an art session. In a particularly meaningful moment, Catherine recreated an artwork King Charles had made during his 2018 visit to the hospice as patron.
Like Charles, she pressed her painted hand onto paper and signed it simply as ‘Catherine.’ While the King, then Prince of Wales, chose lilac for his handprint, Catherine’s was made with the help of a young girl who painted her palm bright red.
Her heartfelt gesture, coupled with her dedication to children's palliative care, has further cemented her role as a compassionate and devoted future Queen.
