Monarch unveils personal music playlist in collaboration with Apple Music
The royal family has delighted fans with a special update on King Charles, unveiling a unique project amid his ongoing cancer treatment.
In a newly released video filmed at Buckingham Palace, the King announced his collaboration with Apple Music to offer a rare glimpse into his musical taste, celebrating the rich sounds of the Commonwealth.
Titled The King's Music Room, the programme has been created to mark Commonwealth Day on March 10. A trailer for the show reveals that King Charles’ curated playlist features legendary artists such as Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, and Grace Jones, as well as contemporary stars like Davido and RAYE.
Speaking from a grand room in the Palace, the monarch reflected on the deep significance of music.
"Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. I know that is also the case for so many others," he shared. "It has that remarkable ability to bring happy memories flooding back from the deepest recesses of our memory, to comfort us in times of sadness, and to take us to distant places."
He added: "But perhaps, above all, it can lift our spirits to such a degree, and all the more so when it brings us together in celebration. In other words, it brings us joy."
The King’s Music Room will be available for free on Apple Music 1, starting at 1 a.m. EST on March 10.
