Camilla’s Aide Opens Up About Queen’s Private Struggle Amid King Charles’ Cancer Diagnosis

Queen Camilla Showed 'Astonishing' Strength Behind Closed Doors, Despite Personal Anxiety

Queen Camilla concealed deep anxieties from the public following King Charles III's cancer diagnosis, according to a royal aide who praised her "astonishing" resilience.

Speaking to Newsweek in an interview published Wednesday, March 12, the aide described how Camilla managed her royal duties while privately supporting her husband through his illness, calling it an "exhausting" experience.

"It would have been draining for a woman half her age," the aide said, highlighting Camilla’s strength in maintaining her composure during a public visit to a London cancer centre on January 31—just days before the palace officially announced Charles' illness.

Buckingham Palace confirmed on February 5 that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer following treatment for an enlarged prostate. Despite ongoing medical care, the king continues his public duties and has scheduled engagements abroad, including a forthcoming trip to Italy with Camilla in April.

Princess Catherine also recently revealed her own cancer battle, announcing in March that she is now in remission after undergoing surgery earlier this year.
