Royal expert claims Prince’s temper mirrors King Charles and is rooted in childhood trauma
Catherine has reportedly mastered the art of calming Prince William’s occasional temper, with palace insiders joking that she often treats him like her “fourth child,” according to royal expert Tom Quinn.
In an interview with Fox News Digital on March 21, Quinn revealed that Prince William—who is known to be particular about how things are done—can become irritated when matters don’t go as planned. “Occasionally, William has little tantrums and irritations if things aren’t done the way he wants them done,” he explained.
However, Catherine is said to handle these moments with the same patience she shows with their children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. A royal aide reportedly told Quinn, “We don’t know where William would be without her. She calms him down when he gets a bit fractious. She says he sometimes has to be treated as her fourth child!”
Quinn suggests that William’s emotional reactions may stem from his difficult childhood, including the highly publicised divorce of his parents and the tragic loss of Princess Diana. He noted that William found comfort in Catherine’s family, whom he described as warm and emotionally supportive.
While these outbursts were said to be more frequent in the early days of their relationship, the expert believes they’ve subsided over time. Still, he noted that both William and King Charles III are “prone to tantrums” when things don’t go their way—suggesting it may be a family trait.
