Speculation Grows Over Prince of Wales’ Alleged Intervention
Prince William may have played a behind-the-scenes role in Donald Trump’s decision not to deport Harry, according to royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths.
Speaking on GB News, Griffiths suggested that during a private meeting months ago, the Prince of Wales may have urged the former U.S. president to let his brother remain in America.
‘What Trump has said is that he’s not going to deport Harry, so we’re not having him back,’ Griffiths stated. ‘[Trump] met with Prince William a few months ago, and they seemed to have a little tête-à-tête. Everyone was speculating whether William said, “Please, for the love of God, don’t send him back.”’
The speculation follows a legal battle over Harry’s immigration records. The Heritage Foundation sued the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, demanding transparency on whether the Duke of Sussex properly disclosed his past drug use on his visa application. His 2023 memoir, Spare, detailed previous use of cannabis, cocaine, and psychedelics—substances that could typically affect visa eligibility.
Despite the scrutiny, Trump recently stated he would ‘leave [Harry] alone,’ adding that the Duke had ‘enough troubles with his difficult wife as it is.’
Meanwhile, Griffiths reiterated that Harry remains committed to his children, regardless of legal challenges. ‘Even if that marriage ended, he will always remain wherever the kids are,’ she noted, reinforcing that the Duke has no plans to leave the U.S.—or reconnect with his royal relatives anytime soon.
