Hollywood Turning Against Harry and Meghan? Journalist Highlights 'Seismic Change' in U.S. Opinion

Public sentiment in the United States toward the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appears to be shifting, with increasing criticism from Hollywood figures.

Harry and Meghan, who reside in Montecito, California, recently visited the Pasadena Convention Center, which was serving as an evacuation shelter for victims of the Los Angeles wildfires. While intended as a show of support, their visit drew backlash. American actress Justine Bateman criticised them on X (formerly Twitter), branding them "disaster tourists" and likening them to "ambulance chasers."

The changing perception is explored in a new documentary, Harry and Meghan’s American Nightmare. Journalist Dawn Neesom observed, “It’s not just Vanity Fair—it feels like all of Hollywood has turned against them. There has been a significant change in how Americans view Harry and Meghan.”

However, royal expert Katie Nicholl defended the couple, stating, “I think the backlash was somewhat unfair. Their visit likely provided comfort to those affected.”

The discussion arises as Meghan debuts her latest Netflix project, With Love, Meghan, an eight-part lifestyle series featuring celebrity conversations on cooking, gardening, and wellness set against a scenic California backdrop.
