Monarch’s Palace Meeting Follows Catherine’s St Patrick’s Day Engagement
King Charles III held an important meeting at Buckingham Palace following Catherine’s recent remarks about future travel plans with her children.
The 76-year-old monarch welcomed Canada’s new Prime Minister, Mark Carney, during his visit to the Palace. The royal family shared a statement alongside a photograph of the meeting, writing: “This afternoon at Buckingham Palace, the Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, was received in audience by The King.”
The meeting is seen as a symbolic show of support for Canada, with the King notably wearing a red tie. Observers suggest this subtle gesture reflects his ongoing commitment to the Commonwealth nation, despite his ongoing cancer treatment.
The Palace’s update came after Catherine attended the St Patrick’s Day Parade, where she mentioned her intention to take her children to Australia and New Zealand when they are older.
Speaking to Corporal Adam Hamilton, an Australian reservist, she shared that her eldest son is already curious about the trip, saying, “George finds it fascinating that he has been to Australia and New Zealand.”
