Monarch Joins 80th JCB Anniversary Celebrations After Kensington Palace’s Announcement
King Charles III was in a celebratory mood as he visited Staffordshire on Sunday, marking the 80th anniversary of JCB. His appearance followed Kensington Palace’s announcement about Prince William and Catherine’s upcoming engagement in Wales.
The 76-year-old monarch was seen enjoying the occasion, smiling warmly as he pulled a pint at Tower Brewery in Burton upon Trent—a town known for producing a quarter of the country’s beer. Charles shared a lighthearted moment with brewery owner John Mills, who asked if he planned to take a sip of the traditional Gone for a Burton beer. The King laughed, replying that if not, he was “in the wrong place,” before raising his glass and toasting, “To your very good health.”
As he sampled the drink, Charles quipped, “Mmmm… Interesting,” before adding with a chuckle, “Yes, it’s supercharged.”
Royal expert Rebecca English highlighted the event on X (formerly Twitter), sharing photos of the King’s arrival and his warm interactions with JCB employees and apprentices.
The monarch’s cheerful mood follows the return of the Prince and Princess of Wales to the UK after their family holiday. Kensington Palace recently confirmed that the couple will visit Pontypridd in South Wales on Wednesday, February 26, as part of their ongoing royal duties.
