Streaming Giant Reconsiders Future of ‘With Love, Meghan’ Amid Viewer Backlash
Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal has reportedly hit an uncertain phase as the streaming giant reacts to the wave of negative reviews surrounding her new lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan.
Since its release on March 4, the show has generated significant buzz, but mixed reactions have raised concerns within Netflix. A source told MailOnline that executives are now “worried” about their ongoing partnership with the Duchess of Sussex.
“It’s not a runaway success,” the insider revealed, explaining that a second season was quickly announced because the episodes were filmed back-to-back. “In theory, there is no second season—it was all filmed at once, just like many Netflix shows.”
This approach, according to the source, allows for post-production edits based on viewer and media feedback. “It’s clever and cost-effective. So, no, the overall contract hasn’t been renewed yet.”
Compounding the uncertainty, Meghan previously revealed that Netflix was not only producing her show but had also become a business partner in her lifestyle brand, As Ever. While the brand’s website is live, a concrete launch date remains unspecified beyond a vague Spring 2025 window.
“Netflix bosses are all worried now because they have invested a lot in the product line,” the source added. “They don’t know when and how to roll it all out.”
With mounting scrutiny and no clear strategy for the brand’s future, Netflix’s commitment to Meghan’s projects appears to be in question.
