Meghan Markle opens up about Montecito life as Prince Harry faces US visa controversy

Duchess shares rare glimpse into her private world while Harry awaits legal ruling

Meghan Markle has offered a rare insight into her life in Montecito, reflecting on her growing friendships and community involvement as Prince Harry faces mounting legal troubles over his US visa status.

The Duchess of Sussex, who has been in the spotlight with the release of her Netflix cooking show With Love, Meghan, the launch of her lifestyle brand As Ever, and the announcement of her new podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, shared how she has embraced a sense of normalcy in her California home.

Speaking to People, Meghan revealed, “I have a couple of girlfriends up here—these are stay-at-home moms and working women with normal jobs, not in the public eye.” She explained that what began as connections through their children has evolved into “girls’ nights out or doing Pilates together.”

She also mentioned participating in yoga classes with as many as 40 to 50 people, admitting that while it initially felt overwhelming, she now values the connections she has formed.

Reflecting on the Montecito community’s support, Meghan said, “Once you know us, I think you want us to have the same normalcy as parents and for our children as they do, despite however unique our situation is.”

Her comments come as a US judge ruled that key documents from Harry’s immigration records will soon be made public, potentially revealing whether he was truthful about his past drug use on his visa application.
