Duchess of Sussex Avoids Legal Battle Over Lifestyle Brand Name
Meghan Markle has been granted a moment of relief as a potential legal dispute over her lifestyle brand As Ever has been dropped.
The Duchess of Sussex recently faced scrutiny after a New York-based clothing brand with the same name came into the spotlight, leading to speculation about a possible trademark dispute.
However, designer Mark Kolski, the owner of the original As Ever brand, has confirmed that he will not be taking legal action against Meghan’s project. Speaking to The New York Times, Kolski clarified, "I'm not trying to mount some legal offensive here. Right now, I'm just going back to work, and I'm trying to keep the awareness on my brand."
He also dismissed speculation of a conflict, stating, "What it feels like is that people are making comments, and the media want to create a rift between us, but there isn't."
On February 18, Meghan officially introduced As Ever, renaming her previous venture American Riviera Orchard. She described the project as "an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish—food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the everyday."
With the legal concerns now behind her, Meghan can focus on growing her lifestyle brand without further controversy.
