Actress Abigail Spencer praises Meghan’s Netflix cooking show as ‘genuine’
Meghan Markle’s close friend and Suits co-star, Abigail Spencer, has spoken out in support of the Duchess of Sussex following criticism of her Netflix cooking series, With Love, Meghan.
The show, which premiered on March 4, features Meghan sharing recipes and kitchen tips alongside friends. Amid ongoing scrutiny, Spencer defended Meghan’s authenticity, emphasising that the Duchess has always been passionate about hosting and cooking.
Speaking to Hello! Magazine, Spencer shared, “We have a very private friendship, so choosing to let people in on part of that is… it's very private, but I’m glad we got to share a little bit of it.”
She described Meghan as “the hostess with the most,” adding, “Literally for years, she has been like this.”
Spencer explained that she joined the show to support Meghan’s vision, stating, “It was so natural, and I was really just there to have fun, delight in her, and be a safe space.”
Expressing her pride, she added, “Meghan has created something very authentic to her. I’ve known her for a long time, and she was doing all of this many, many years ago. I’m grateful that it came back around.”
Spencer’s comments serve as a strong endorsement of the Duchess’ latest project, offering a counterpoint to claims questioning the authenticity of With Love, Meghan.
