Duke and Duchess Face Backlash for ‘Irresponsible’ Parenting Choice
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have come under fire after sharing an unseen photo of their daughter, Princess Lilibet, which many fans deemed a safety risk.
The controversy erupted after Meghan released a series of images on International Women’s Day, accompanied by a powerful message. Among them was a candid shot of Harry cuddling Lilibet while aboard a boat.
According to Hello! Magazine, social media users were quick to criticise the couple for not ensuring Lilibet wore a life jacket. “A child on a boat without a lifejacket makes me cringe. We’ve had several drownings in our state for that very reason,” one fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Another commenter added, “How irresponsible. Even pet owners put life vests on their pets when riding in boats.”
While Harry and Meghan have remained silent on the backlash, some supporters have defended them, suggesting that the boat may have been docked at the time, meaning no safety rules were broken.
Despite the mixed reactions, the photo has reignited debates over parenting choices and public scrutiny surrounding the Sussexes.
