The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a five-year, $100 million deal with Netflix in 2020 after stepping down as senior royals. Their debut docuseries Harry & Meghan was a major success for the platform, but follow-up projects have received mixed reactions. Now, as their Netflix deal approaches its conclusion, a source told Heat Magazine that the couple is reeling from claims that collaborators may be preparing for a possible split. “There’s absolutely a sense that people are trying to build relationships with them in case there’s a divorce,” the insider revealed.
The suggestion has reportedly left Harry and Meghan “horrified,” with the source adding, “They find it sickening that people would make those sorts of accusations.”
While the Sussexes do not believe Netflix itself is working with them purely for access to their private lives, they are said to be fully aware that “many are waiting in the wings” should their relationship falter.
