Prince Harry Shares Emotional Connection to UK as Invictus Games Returns

Duke of Sussex Announces 2027 Games in Birmingham, Reflects on Deep Ties

Prince Harry has expressed his strong emotional connection to the UK as he announced the return of the Invictus Games to Birmingham in 2027.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, recently attended this year’s Games in Vancouver, Canada, where he remained until the closing ceremony on February 16. His wife, Meghan Markle, joined him for the first five days before returning to California.

Speaking about the upcoming UK event, Harry shared his enthusiasm, stating, “Birmingham holds a special place for us emotionally.”

During the 2025 Games, Meghan actively engaged with attendees and shared exclusive behind-the-scenes moments on her Instagram. Harry acknowledged her deep involvement, noting that “she’s been a part of this community since shortly after Orlando in 2016.”

Following her departure from Vancouver, Meghan posted a glimpse of Canadian treats and souvenirs she brought back for their children, Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3.

Since its inception in London, the Invictus Games has been hosted in Orlando, Sydney, The Hague, Düsseldorf, and Vancouver. Now, with its return to the UK, the competition marks a full-circle moment for both the event and its founder.
