Duke of Sussex Relieved as Key Immigration Details Remain Sealed
Prince Harry is said to be in a favourable position following the latest developments in the US visa dispute.
A US judge ordered the partial unsealing of Harry’s visa files after a freedom of information request by the Heritage Foundation. However, significant redactions have kept crucial details private, preventing concerns over potential harm and harassment.
The conservative think tank had accused Harry of concealing past drug use when moving to the US in 2020, citing admissions from his memoir Spare. Despite these claims, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) maintained that releasing the Duke’s full records could lead to foreseeable harm.
A DHS official, Jarrod Panter, warned that public disclosure could expose Harry to harassment, manipulation, and unwanted media attention. Judge Carl Nichols had previously ruled in favour of protecting Harry’s privacy but later ordered a redacted release of documents.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump has already stated he would not seek to deport the Duke of Sussex. With the case seemingly settled for now, Harry is reportedly relieved that the controversy has subsided.
