Duke grows protective amid backlash over Netflix series and podcast
Prince Harry is growing increasingly defensive of Meghan Markle as the couple faces mounting setbacks, according to royal experts.
Meghan’s Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, has been met with mixed to negative reviews since its release two weeks ago. Many critics have called it “unrelatable” and “inauthentic,” a response that has reportedly unsettled the Duchess.
While Meghan has attempted to appear unfazed, Harry has taken the criticism personally. According to Majesty Magazine editor-in-chief Ingrid Seward, the Duke of Sussex “loathes” the backlash and is deeply frustrated by the negativity surrounding his wife.
Speaking to Fabulous magazine, Seward revealed, “He complained and said, ‘Would they please leave Meghan alone?’” She added that Harry sees much of the criticism as coming from “unkind” British commentators, noting, “He gets very upset by all these things.”
Despite the controversy, With Love, Meghan has been renewed for a second season, and Meghan is preparing to launch her new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder. However, even her latest project has drawn scrutiny, with some accusing her of copying the name of an existing podcast, Confessions of a CEO.
Meanwhile, Harry faces his own challenges as a US judge has ruled that key documents from his visa application will be released, raising questions about his immigration status. As both Meghan and Harry deal with growing criticism and legal troubles, the couple remains in the public eye for all the wrong reasons.
