Prince Harry’s US Residency Under Threat as Visa Records Set for Release

Duke of Sussex faces fresh scrutiny amid deportation debate

Prince Harry’s future in the United States remains uncertain as a US judge has ordered the release of redacted details from his visa application, reigniting concerns over his immigration status.

Washington Judge Carl Nichols ruled that the documents must be made public, following controversy over Harry’s admissions of past drug use in his memoir Spare, which was released in January 2023. The revelations have fueled debates over whether the Duke of Sussex misrepresented his history when applying for residency.

Chairman of Republicans Overseas UK, Greg Swenson, has urged Harry to leave the US voluntarily to avoid potential legal complications. However, some commentators dismiss the likelihood of deportation. Speaking on GB News, Benjamin Butterworth argued, “If the US really were to deny visas to public figures who admitted to drug use, half of the pop stars wouldn’t be there.”

Despite speculation, Donald Trump has previously stated that he has no intention of deporting Harry. In February, he told the New York Post, “I’ll leave him alone.”

Meanwhile, reports suggest that the investigation into Harry’s visa application—previously closed in September—was quietly reopened weeks after Trump assumed office, adding a new layer of intrigue to the ongoing legal battle.

As scrutiny intensifies, the outcome of the visa dispute could have significant consequences for Harry’s future in the US.
