Prince William Arrives in Estonia for Key NATO Visit Without Catherine

Future King embarks on solo trip to support UK troops near Russian border

Prince William touched down in Estonia on Thursday for his first official overseas trip of the year—without Catherine by his side.

The Prince of Wales began his two-day visit by meeting with Estonia’s president, Alar Karis, in the capital Tallinn. The trip, undertaken at the request of King Charles, focuses on showing support for British forces deployed to guard NATO’s eastern flank.

In his role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Mercian Regiment, which is now taking over defence duties from the Royal Dragoon Guards, William is visiting troops and learning more about their mission near the Russian border.

He is also engaging with local leaders on key issues, including Estonia’s response to the war in Ukraine, advancements in renewable energy, and regional energy security.

During the visit, Prince William is expected to meet Ukrainian families who have sought refuge in Estonia over the past three years.
