Prince William, in his role as Duke of Cornwall, has been officially appointed Patron of We Are Farming Minds, a Herefordshire-based mental health charity backed by the Duchy of Cornwall.
The announcement was made during a special gathering of sixty young farming tenants from the Duchy, where the Duke met with attendees to discuss the future of agriculture and the challenges facing the next generation of farmers.
The event, focused on equipping young farmers with practical knowledge, business resilience, and mental health support, highlighted the often-isolated nature of rural life and the mounting pressures within the industry. Prince William stressed the importance of fostering strong support systems, ensuring farmers feel connected and valued.
Workshops and open discussions encouraged dialogue around wellbeing—an issue the Duke continues to prioritise—further reflecting his growing commitment to championing the farming community and safeguarding their mental health.
