The Prince of Wales remains gracious despite Wales' heavy defeat
Prince William has issued a new message following his unexpected prediction about Wales' Six Nations rugby match against England.
The Prince of Wales, who serves as the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU), attended the game at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Saturday alongside Catherine. Despite his hopes for a strong performance, Wales suffered a crushing 14-68 defeat.
However, William remained in good spirits, sharing a message of gratitude after the match. Kensington Palace posted photos of him interacting with Welsh players, accompanied by the caption, “Good to be back in Cardiff today. Thank you for the welcome, @welshrugbyunion,” also written in Welsh.
Before the match, William had cautiously predicted England’s victory, referencing their decision to swap out key players. Speaking to injured athletes supported by the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, he remarked, “England have made those changes to give us a chance, I think… I think they’ve got a lot to play for today. I think they might get a result today.”
Despite the disappointing outcome for Wales, the Prince maintained his trademark sportsmanship, reinforcing his support for the team.
