Future Queen confirms St Patrick’s Day engagement following joyful royal baby news
Princess Kate has thrilled royal fans with a much-anticipated announcement, confirming her plans for an upcoming engagement as the royal family celebrates the news of a baby on the way.
The Princess of Wales, who has recently focused on her recovery from cancer, will mark St Patrick’s Day with a special visit to the Irish Guards, where she serves as Colonel.
The announcement follows the joyous news that the Duke of Westminster and his wife, Olivia, are expecting their first child. The couple shares a close friendship with Prince William and Kate, making the celebration particularly meaningful.
Royal expert Rebecca English shared the update on X (formerly Twitter), revealing: “A solo engagement for the Princess of Wales. As Colonel of the Irish Guards, she will attend its annual St Patrick’s Day, presenting traditional sprigs of shamrock to the soldiers – and, of course, Irish Wolfhound regimental mascot.”
During the event at Wellington Barracks in London, Kate will also present long-service and good conduct medals to members of the regiment. She is set to meet with junior cadets, known as the 'Mini Micks,' before joining the officers and sergeants for official photographs.
Her return to public duties has delighted royal fans, with many celebrating her involvement in this cherished annual tradition.
