Princess Kate is being commended for her life-changing decision to publicly share her cancer diagnosis—an announcement made exactly one year ago today, March 22, 2024. The revelation, which the Princess of Wales described at the time as a “huge shock,” came after what she called an “incredibly tough couple of months.”
Following a year-long battle and successful completion of preventative chemotherapy, the Princess—now in remission—is being praised for her strength, empathy, and commitment to others facing similar challenges.
In January, Kate marked her return to royal duties by taking on the role of joint patron of The Royal Marsden, the hospital where she received treatment, alongside Prince William. She expressed her desire to “save many more lives and transform the experience of all those impacted by cancer.”
