Royal Couple Maintains Separate Retreats Despite Strong Partnership
As King Charles and Queen Camilla celebrate 20 years of marriage, it has been revealed that the Queen Consort made a personal agreement before their wedding to maintain her own private sanctuary.
According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, Camilla regularly retreats to her countryside residence, Ray Mill House in Wiltshire, for weekends and summer breaks, allowing her to spend quality time with her children and grandchildren away from royal protocol.
“She goes every weekend so that she can spend time with her grandchildren and children. She does not go to Highgrove at all unless she and Charles are entertaining guests together,” Seward shared.
While Camilla enjoys her time at Ray Mill House, Charles often spends his weekends at Highgrove or Sandringham. However, during the week, the couple resides together at Clarence House, striking a balance between personal space and royal responsibilities.
