Queen to Stand Beside King Charles, Prince William, and Princess Catherine at Key Event
Queen Camilla’s security protocols have come under focus as she prepares to join King Charles, Prince William, and Princess Catherine for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey on March 11.
Having taken on an essential role within the monarchy during the King’s cancer treatment last year, Camilla has remained at the forefront of royal duties. Now, her son, Tom Parker Bowles, has offered rare insights into the protective measures in place for her, particularly regarding visitors and communication.
Speaking at an event in Windsor, Parker Bowles was asked whether he could simply visit his mother at the Castle without prior arrangements. “It takes a bit more planning now,” he admitted. “I probably would call or text. She can’t do WhatsApp… which is probably a good thing because you can’t send all those appalling things you get… But it’s security.”
Despite these restrictions, he noted that Camilla is well aware of the protocols and often calls him over when he is nearby.
These revelations come just days before the Commonwealth Day service, where King Charles and Princess Catherine will make their return after missing last year’s event due to their respective cancer treatments. In 2024, Camilla and Prince William led the royal presence at the service, ensuring continuity in the King’s absence. This year, the united presence of senior royals is expected to send a strong message of stability and commitment to the Commonwealth.
