Buckingham Palace Shares King Charles Update as Prince Harry Plans UK Return

Royal family releases new statement and video amid Duke of Sussex's security appeal

As Prince Harry prepares to return to the UK for an upcoming court hearing, Buckingham Palace has released a new statement highlighting King Charles III’s latest royal engagement.

The 76-year-old monarch appeared at RAF Northolt on Thursday to mark the 80th anniversary of Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF). During the visit, he unveiled a new aircraft set to deliver vital aid to remote regions of Papua New Guinea, also commemorating the country’s 50th anniversary of independence.

A video of the event was shared on the royal family’s official Instagram account alongside a statement praising MAF as “the world’s largest humanitarian air operator,” noting that it provides access to medicine, technology, and education across 14,000 remote destinations.

The Palace added that His Majesty “unveiled their new aircraft, which will deliver aid to remote regions in Papua New Guinea, and had the opportunity to meet staff and volunteers of MAF.”

The update on the King comes amid growing attention around Prince Harry’s return to the UK. The Duke of Sussex is due in London for an appeal hearing on April 8 and 9 as part of his legal battle with the Home Office over his security arrangements while in Britain.
