Royal expert suggests easing workload as monarch battles treatment-related fatigue
King Charles is being urged to reduce his royal responsibilities following a recent health episode linked to his ongoing cancer treatment.
The 76-year-old monarch reportedly experienced side effects from therapy last Thursday, prompting medical observation at The London Clinic. Despite the setback, he returned to work just days later, presiding over a full investiture ceremony on Tuesday.
Royal commentator Ingrid Seward has recommended that the King consider delegating some of his ceremonial roles to ease the physical demands of his schedule. “He’s been conditioned to work, but extreme fatigue from treatment makes some roles more challenging,” she told Newsweek.
Seward suggested that senior royals such as Princess Anne and Prince Edward could take over duties like investiture ceremonies, helping to lighten the King’s load while he continues to recover.
Buckingham Palace has described the incident as a “minor bump in the road” and reaffirmed that King Charles remains on a steady path toward recovery.
