Reception to celebrate advocacy and support during Royal Family’s personal cancer journey
King Charles and Queen Camilla will host a special reception at Buckingham Palace on April 30, spotlighting the tireless efforts of those raising awareness and providing care in the fight against cancer.
The event will welcome individuals who have played key roles in supporting people affected by the disease, including medical professionals, charity advocates, and those with lived experience, alongside the Duchess of Gloucester.
Notable guests will include broadcaster Adele Roberts, TV personality Ashley Cain, actor Richard E. Grant, and the parents of the late Dame Deborah James, all recognised for their inspiring advocacy.
Representatives from organisations such as Macmillan Cancer Support, Breast Cancer Now, Maggie’s, and Children’s Hospice South West will present their community initiatives through interactive exhibits.
The gathering will also feature a moving performance by the ITV Change + Check Choir—formed by women who discovered breast cancer thanks to an ITV1 campaign.
The event carries special resonance as both King Charles and Catherine continue to undergo treatment for their own cancer diagnoses.
